“Hello Tiwai island staff, I hope you are all well.
My wife Sue and daughter (Kate McDermott) stayed for a few days at Tiwai. We very much enjoyed our visit and all the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
I completely disagree with the Tripadvisor review which complained about lack of mosquito nets, they cannot have visited properly, the rooms all had good nets.
We had several good trips in the forest and  along the river. The night forest trip was very special and we were lucky to see rare Pitta birds which I photographed (by torchlight not flash). The river trip was very interesting with views of colobus monkeys and ending with a beautiful sunset. Thank you again for a wonderful visit.
